  1.  Introduction to CANTCP-02 Functions
    1. CAN bus overview

CAN is the abbreviation of Controller Area Network (hereinafter referred to as CAN), which is an ISO international standardized serial communication protocol.


In the current automotive industry, various electronic control systems have been developed for the requirements of safety, comfort, convenience, low pollution and low cost. Due to the different data types and reliability requirements for communication between these systems, the number of wire harnesses increases with the increasing number of buses. In order to meet the needs of "reducing the number of wiring harnesses" and "communicating large amounts of data at high speed through multiple LANs", the CAN communication protocol for automobiles was developed in 1986 by Bosch Company, a German electrical dealer. Since then, CAN has been standardized through ISO 11898 and ISO 11519 and is now the standard protocol for automotive networks in Europe.


Now, the high performance and reliability of CAN has been recognized and widely used in industrial automation, ships, medical equipment, industrial equipment and so on.

Introduction of CANTCP-02

CANTCP-02 is an industrial-grade Ethernet CAN-bus data conversion equipment developed by Guangzhou NP Electronics Co., Ltd. It conforms to CAN2.0A and 2.0 B specifications, is designed for industrial applications and coal mines, and meets the strict performance requirements of industrial automation systems. It integrates one/two CAN-bus interfaces, one EtherNet interface and TCP/IP protocol stack. Users can easily interconnect CAN-bus network and EtherNet network by using it, and further expand the scope of CAN-bus network.


CANTCP-02 supports two CAN ports.

CAN-to-Ethernet equipment CANTCP-02 can work in-40 ℃ ~ 75 ℃ to meet the needs of industrial-grade products. It has 10M/100M adaptive Ethernet interface, CAN communication interface maximum baud rate can reach 1M, Ethernet interface support global standard TCP/IP communication protocol stack, support TCP server mode, TCP client mode, UDP mode of operation, support Modbus TCP RTU protocol, with enhanced electromagnetic isolation protection.

CAN-to-Ethernet equipment CANTCP-02 quickly connects the existing CAN equipment to the local area network, and has been widely used in industrial automation systems, railway systems, building automation systems, self-service banking systems, telecommunications room monitoring, power monitoring and other fields.
